Coignet and Galileo

In the following excerpt, Kepler refers to two mathematical instruments, the sectors of Michael Coignet and Galileo Galilei (the latter being the famous Compasso Geometrico e Militare).

Regarding Coignet, Kepler mentions some "instructions" in French for the instrument. Coignet's description of the sector only appeared in a printed edition in French in 1626 (see below). Then, Kepler must have had access to a manuscript version. On extant manuscripts by Coignet on his sector, see Ad Meskens (1997) Michiel Coignet's contribution to the development of the sector, Annals of Science, 54:2, 143-160.

Also, here and in Kepler's table, Kepler does not mentions Galileo directly, but refers to a "Paduanisches Instrument" that seems quite obviously Galileo's Compasso. The numerical determinations for the "Paduanisches Instrument" in Kepler's table confirm this hypothesis.
