Material: Brass

Notes: Form of a beam compass, but second sliding pointer is missing. An inch scale up to 27 inches. The first 24 inches are divided into equal parts - the nth inch is divided into n equal parts (up to n= 24).  12 inches correspond to about 289.5 mm. The first interval of the scale of lead is subdivided in 32 parts, with a non linear scale and malor divisions at 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 32, 32 being equivalent to 1 (measure: Lead d) ). The first interval of the scale of iron has the same subdivision. The second interval of the scale of iron (to 2) is divided in 32 parts, with a non linear scale and divisions at 8 16 24 2 (measures: Iron b) ).

Inscriptions: on 4 sides "Johann George II Churfürst. Zeughaus Wittenberg A. 1674" " "Bley"; "Eisen"; "Zoll"; "Stein"
